Lyon, France

This is where we spent the bulk of our time while on our trip to France. It was quite charming and a little less hurried than Paris. There was still a lot to see and do here. I loved the little pedestrain streets that were strewn with cafes and little shops. Plus, there has to be one of the best little places to get crepes! The potato, cheese, and ham - was my favorite...

The evenings were still nice and warm while we were there. Most people choose to eat outside, and we did too our first night there.

As you look out our hotel room window - this is what you saw. Most of the streets here look exactly like this one!

The Bartholdi Fountain in the Place des Terreaux. I wish that I could have somehow been able to fully capture the magnitude of this fountain in a photo, but alas, the picture hardly does it justice.

We weren't expecting much when we checked out this church, but we were pleasantly surprised by this gem. It outshone the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris!

If you look on the back walls - you will notice some mosaic murals - they are huge and the whole place was covered in them. Whoever put those together had more patience than I will ever have...

This is one of the dozens of relief sculptures inside of the basillica. The art inside of these churches was every bit as good as you will find in any museum - including the Louvre!

One of the coolest things about France is that you find treasures like these to see, and they don't cost a dime! These Roman amphitheatres are over 2000 years old. They are open to the public and you can touch almost anything you want! We had a ball here!
